Fibrefest is excited to have Emily Propero as the featured fibre artist for Fibrefest 2018.

Artist Statement:

The Inherited home reflects a thoughtful celebration; a nod to the past and a bold leap into what’s to come.

My focus in textiles began in a small arts program, Yukon College’s School of Visual Art in Dawson City, Yukon Canada. My practice in design and textile began to evolve and I focused in installation. I produce one of a kind pieces for the home and re-upholster using unexpected materials such as Indian tapestry, South American coffee bean sacs, vintage flour mill sacs and vinyl and I most recently began dyeing and hand painting fabric. Each piece is one of a kind, hand crafted and the truest testament to a philosophy, ‘Art To Live With.’
